We Asked

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council as part of our new role in promoting enterprise and economic development are developing a Local Economic and Community plan. We asked the business community for their views to help us identify actions for inclusion in the plan. A consultation questionnaire was made available on Citizenspace and we also wrote to 2900 businesses in the County.

You Said

We received 210 submissions to the plan, 66 online through Citizenspace, the rest by hardcopy. The contributions were wide and varied, and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council wish to acknowledge their appreciation to all those who contributed to this consultation process.

We Did

We are currently reviewing all contributions and finalising the objectives and actions, that will define the Council’s role in the economic development of the County for the next 6 years. The plan is scheduled for adoption by end of December 2015.

Overview

As part of our new role in promoting enterprise and economic development, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is in the process of developing a six year Local Economic & Community Plan. This plan will identify goals, objectives and actions to promote and support the economic and community development of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown over the next 6 years to 2021.

We have recently concluded a public consultation in respect of a Draft Socio-Economic Statement. The next step in the consultation process involves engaging with the broad business community, both inside and outside the County.

Why We Are Consulting

It is critical that the Council engages with you the business community in the County as part of the process of preparing the LECP, as your views and inputs will ultimately influence and inform the economic as well as the community elements of the plan.

We want your views to identify the actions the Council could prioritise. To facilitate this, the Council has designed this brief consultation seeking your views on some important issues.

We are working within a tight Statutory timeframe to complete the plan and we would therefore very much appreciate if you could have your views back to us by close of business on Tuesday, 7th July.  Your response will be aggregated along with other responses received.
