Environment: Green Dog Walkers Pledge

Overview

We're asking responsible dog owners to take the Green Dog Walkers Pledge and help fight dog fouling in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area.

All pledgers are entitled to a free doggy poo bag dispenser, roll of bags and a doggy hi-vis bandana (subject to supply).

Your contact information will be held in confidence and not shared with any other parties or agencies.

You can access the Council’s Data Privacy Statement here.

Why picking up after your dog is important

Dog fouling poses a serious health risk on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s parks, beaches and paths when not cleaned up properly. After 2 weeks, uncollected dog poop becomes a host for disease such as Salmonella, E-coli and roundworm!

💡 Did you know one dog poo can:
⚠️ Pollute a tennis court–sized area of the sea
⚠️ Make our pavements smelly, dirty, and unsafe
⚠️ Make kids, adults and even other dogs sick

You've bagged it, now bin it!

To tackle the rise in incidents of bagged waste being left behind in our parks, streets and green spaces, pledgers will receive the Earth Rated Poop Bag Dispenser which comes with a handy clip to make bringing the bagged mess to the bin easier than ever. Don't double your litter! Bring the bag to the bin.
