Closed 18 Nov 2022

Opened 11 Nov 2022

Overview

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is considering the installation of a CCTV scheme in Kilbogget Park. This is to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. The scheme is in consultation with An Garda Síochána in accordance with S38 Garda Síochána Act 2005 and will comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

The scheme will consist of one camera which will be located at the Wyattville Road entrance and will cover the main areas of the park. It will respect the privacy of the home i.e., it will only cover public places.

The camera will record 24/7, it will not be live monitored. The system will be operated and controlled by the Tenancy Management Section of the Housing Department. This section will be the Data Controller.

An Garda Síochána, Council Departments and other agencies can request footage of incidents in the exercise of their powers of preventing, detecting, investigating or prosecuting criminal offences and anti-social behaviour.

The purpose of this survey is to give you an opportunity to agree, disagree or not have an opinion on the proposed installation of this CCTV Scheme.  All returns will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
