Parks: Playground Consultation, Meadowbrook/Ludford, Ballinteer

Overview

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council wishes to develop local playground facilities in the Meadowbrook/Ludford area of Ballinteer.  

The proposed playgrounds will principally cater for local children of mixed age groups up to twelve with supervising adults.

This survey is being carried out to find out your views on the proposed provision of a play space. The information gathered will only be used for this purpose and will not be used for any other purposes.

Why your views matter 

This consultation aims to engage with the community, to gather ideas and local insight, to form the basis of the new playground design. Local communities are being invited to complete this online survey and share their ideas.  

This feedback will help create a brief and specification for the playground to be tendered out to design and build, during 2025.   

The consultation program aims to: 

• Determine the main users of the playground 

• Determine support for the playground 

• Gather ideas from the community for the playground design. 

Community engagement activities being undertaken as part of this process include: 

• School workshops to capture ideas and feedback.   

• In-person consultation:  Ballinteer Community School Tuesday 14 January 6.30-8pm

The consultation opens from Friday 20 December 2024 to Friday 31 January 2025.

Late submissions will not be accepted.  

Only questions 1-6 are mandatory, you can skip to the end to just leave a written comment if you want to skip preferences of play.

All comments submitted to the Council regarding this consultation will form part of the report to be presented at a meeting of the elected members. Accordingly, they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain. No names or email address will appear in the report or minutes.
