Parks: West County Playground Upgrades
Overview
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is planning to upgrade 4 playgrounds over the coming months (Belarmine Avenue, Deerpark, The Gallops, and
Marlay Junior Playground) to create new inclusive play spaces where children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can play. These works will repair playground surfaces and consider additional options for each playground.
This consultation will engage with the community to help plan the playground upgrade in relation to its play equipment and landscaping. Local communities are being invited to complete this online survey and share their ideas. This feedback will help create a brief and specification for these playgrounds to be tendered out to design and build during early 2024.
The consultation program aims to:
- Determine the main users of the playgrounds
- Determine support for adding new structures
- Gather ideas from the community for the playground design and equipment
The consultation opens from Monday, November 20th, and runs until Monday. December 11th. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Community engagement activities being undertaken as part of this process include:
- Dedicated consultation for community members to share their ideas and feedback
- Posters on site
- Emails to Residents Association where possible
- Local school workshops where possible
- Social media campaign
- Engagement with local Councillors
This survey can be completed more than once, for example each child or young person may have different preferences for play equipment, or as a parent or carer you may have a different point of view. We would be grateful if you are filling out forms on behalf of more than one person that the full form is filled out. This will provide a more accurate analysis to provide for the design brief.
You are encouraged to use this online survey to provide feedback, but submissions will also be accepted by email to info@dlrcoco.ie or post to the following address:
