Outdoor Event Licence for Outdoor Concerts 2019 at Dún Laoghaire Pier

Overview

The Council has by Order of the Executive Manager, Planning and HR Department, dated 3rd May 2019 granted a licence which accords with Section 231, Sub Section 3 and 4 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) for the holding of music concerts at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, on 31^st May, 1^st June and 2^nd June 2019  (inclusive), subject to 15 conditions.

Where a public event which comprises of an audience of 5,000 or more people, the organiser is required to obtain an Outdoor Events Licence from the Local Authority.  This is in accordance with the Planning & Development Act 2000 (As Amended) and Part 16 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (As Amended).

An application has been received on Thursday, 28th February 2019 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the holding of an outdoor event at Dún Laoghaire Pier, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.  

The application is for a proposed series of concerts to be held on Friday, 31st May 2019, Saturday, 1st June and Sunday 2nd June 2019

Under the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations, 2001 (as amended) Article 190 of Planning & Development Regulations 2015  states:

“(1) Any person may make a submission or observation in writing to the local authority in respect of an application within 3 weeks of the receipt of the application by the local authority.

(2) A submission or observation under sub-article (1) shall not be considered by the local authority unless it— (i) states the name of the person or organisation making the submission or observation, and (ii) indicates the residential or business address to which any correspondence relating to the application should be sent.”
