Overview

Dear Citizen,

We would like to thank you for registering your interest in participating in the Deansgrange Cycle Route Focus Groups.

As part of Part 8 of the Consultation Process for the Deansgrange Cycle Route, the Active Travel team is undertaking a research and engagement exercise to gather feedback from all stakeholders in the Deansgrange Community and from people who most likely would use the new Active travel route.

The aims of the focus groups are described below, please make sure you carefully read the goals of each of these focus groups and apply to the one that is most relevant to you.

Please Note that people who are attending the first group are also eligible to attend the second group, provided that they identify as women, as the second group is targeted at adult women only.

FOCUS GROUP 1:

A mixed group of people (a most diverse range of ages, abilities and reasons to attend Deansgrange Cemetery) – living or attending activities in the catchment area.

AIM: To discuss the new proposed route alignment with help of visualisations/photomontages of the scheme and promote a genuine discussion of the pros/cons of this route option as well as listen to any issues/concerns people may have about it.

FOCUS GROUP 2:

Women only – (a most diverse range of ages, abilities and reasons to attend Deansgrange Cemetery) – living or attending activities in the catchment area.

AIM: Same as AIM 1, with additional discussion on potential personal safety issues/fears and understanding of specific risks connected to the use of Cemetery grounds as part of the Active School Travel cycle and walking route. We want to engage with women only to explore specific gendered issues with safety and public spaces.
