Traffic & Road Safety: Bike Locker Parking

Overview

We are considering introducing bike lockers at some Dart stations and other locations around the County. We are seeking feedback from the public on where they would like to the bike lockers to be located. The lockers are for medium term cycle parking and not short term cycle parking.

Why your views matter

Bike Lockers provide secure cycle parking. They are currently being used by Irish Rail at some rail stations. Bike lockers are also used in UCD. Each locker is rented by the user for a period of time ranging from 3 months to a year in return for a rental fee. The Council would like to hear from bike owners who would be interested in renting bike lockers and also contribute to user surveys as part of the rental process.

What happens next

The Council is seeking feedback from cyclists who would be interesting in renting bike lockers. Submissions should be made by logging onto www.dlrcoco.ie and visiting the Public Consultation Hub. 

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 18th February 2022.
