Traffic & Road Safety Section: Pre-public consultation of Road Safety Plan
Overview
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is preparing a new Road Safety Plan for the County in line with the Government Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030, a copy of which is available below.
We are seeking feedback from individuals, group, and key agencies on what actions should be contained in the Road Safety Plan.
The primary aim of the government’s new road safety strategy is to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on Irish roads by 50% over the next 10 years. The strategy is led by a Safe System approach which is viewed as best practice globally in the delivery of road safety strategies.
As part of the 2021–2030 strategy, seven Safe System priority intervention areas have been identified. Feedback is sought on possible actions under each of the headings.
