'Reimagining George's Place - Revitalising through Reuse', Integrated Urban Study for George’s Place & Kelly’s Avenue, Dún Laoghaire
Overview
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has received funding from 'THRIVE' – the Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme, to develop an Integrated Urban Study for George’s Place and Kelly’s Avenue in Dún Laoghaire.
'Reimagining George’s Place - Revitalising through Reuse’ will develop an Integrated Urban Study for this rapidly changing area in Dún Laoghaire, with a focus on a number of local authority owned buildings on the corner of George’s Lane and Kelly’s Avenue.
There are two Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council owned protected structures in this urban block on the corner of George’s Lane and Kelly’s Avenue which are currently vacant. Previously these properties have been occupied as a hotel, a wash house, council stores and offices. We are looking for your views on bringing these buildings back to life with new uses.
This THRIVE – Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme project has been initiated by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Architects.
Reimagining George’s Place is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
Why your views matter
As part of this project we are inviting everyone to take part in this public survey where we are listening to and gathering information from a wide range of stakeholders and potential users to support the future development of new facilities at this location. We are looking for your opinions on the existing buildings and their potential future reuse.
This questionnaire has been prepared by the team of AP+E, Prescience and Livia Hurley appointed by DLR to carry out a feasibility study. The information collected through this survey will form part of a report which will inform funding applications and a design brief for the next stage of this project.
The survey has four sections and will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. For each multiple choice question you may tick all answers that you think apply.
