Community and Volunteer Awards 2026 - Volunteer Nomination

Overview

The dlr Community & Volunteer Awards recognise and celebrate the contribution of community groups, organisations and volunteers across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

Please read the guidelines carefully before completing the application form.

Nominations will close at Midnight on the 27th of October 2026.

Criteria for Nominations

To be eligible for Volunteer Awards, the individual should:

• Be a member of a locally based not-for-profit Community or Voluntary group/organisation in the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
• Be a member of a group/organisation that is able to demonstrate an inclusive and transparent ethos.
• Be a member of a group/organisation that is working to address the issues / target groups identified in the dlr LECP. The LECP is available on our website here.
• Be a member of a group/organisation that has an appropriate organisational structure and can demonstrate a commitment to good practice in line with the Governance Code or the Charities Governance Code.
• Be a member of a group/organisation that is registered with the DLR Public Participation Networking (PPN) or in the process of registering.  

Any volunteer nominee should be aware and accept that they are being nominated.

Individuals who receive pay for their service will not be eligible. 

What we will share

Information submitted as part of a nomination will be treated confidentially and will only be shared with the independent judging panel for the purpose of assessing nominations.

The names of winning individuals, groups or organisations, together with photographs and other relevant information, may be published and used by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (dlr) in promotional material relating to the Community and Volunteer Awards.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 when processing personal data.

By completing this form, I consent to the use of the materials, images and text included in this submission, together with photographs taken at the awards ceremony, for promotional purposes relating to the Community and Volunteer Awards.
