Help shape the upgrade of The People’s Park Playground

The People’s Park is one of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s most valued historic parks. We are planning to upgrade the existing playground, and we want your input to help shape its future.

This is your opportunity to provide insight to allow us to create a playground that is inclusive, accessible, and reflects the needs of the local community.

Why your views matter

The Council’s Play Policy 2023 - 2028 aims to improve inclusive and accessible play across the county.

A key part of this policy is working directly with communities - especially children and young people - to help improve and redesign play areas

Your ideas and feedback will play an important role in shaping the design of the upgraded playground.

What this consultation will do

Through this consultation, we aim to:

• understand who currently uses the playground
• find ways to improve play experiences
• gather ideas on design and accessibility
• make sure the upgraded playground meets local needs

We will use your feedback to help design the upgraded playground, with the aim of completing it in 2026.

Data Notice

When you send a submission to the Council for this consultation, your submission and name or organisation will be included in the Chief Executive's report for this consultation.

This report will be publicly available and is presented to the County Councillors at a public Council meeting. Your email address and your home address will not be included in the report or the minutes.

The public consultation period for these plans will run from 25th May 2026 to 22nd June 2026 inclusive. During this time, any individual or organisation can submit their observations using the following channels:
