I would like to lodge formal objection against the planned walkway connecting Bishop's Gate to Chapel Hill (PY9 as per the LAP).
Myself,Redacted text, strongly oppose this for multiple reasons:
- This would greatly increase utilization of the Chapel Hill playground.Redacted text, are paying the insurance for this facility. Therefore the playground shouldn't be commonly used by non-residents. As an increased usage by other children also increases the risk of an accident - for which Chapel Hill insurance premiums would go up
- Estate safety & privacy: Currently Chapel Hill is a very private estate. This benefit would be taken away if it was connected to Bishop's Gate. In fact, a key selling point for Chapel Hill is that it is tucked away from the Enniskerry Rd. Therefore a connection to Bishop's Gate would impact this and potentially affect house prices
- Just downside, no benefit: Walking from Bishop's Gate to the school on Glebe Road is approx. 350m via the Enniskerry Rd. Walking through Chapel Hill is also 350m. Therefore there is no benefit to a walkway. In fact, a walkway would be pure downside for Chapel Hill residents.
- Once the Glenamuck road scheme is complete, traffic on the Enniskerry Rd should be far less, again undermining the need for a walk through between Bishop's Gate and Chapel Hill
Based on these points I strongly object to this walk way being created.
