What is the County Development Plan?

How was the Draft Plan prepared?
The process of preparing the Draft Plan kicked off this time last year when we sought views from the public to frame the general direction of the Draft Plan. The Draft Plan was prepared following a period of consultation which took the form of:
- A Pre-Draft public consultation stage took place during January and February 2020 which included public displays and open days and the making of submissions and observations by the public and interested parties;
- The preparation of a Chief Executive's Report on the submissions recieved. This Report was considered by the Elected Members of the Council at a Special Development Plan Council meeting held in June 2020 and the Elected Members gave strategic Directions to the Executive regarding the preparation of the Draft Plan;
- The Chief Executive's Draft Plan was prepared by the Executive and considered and amended by the Elected Members over a series of Special Development Plan Council meetings in November and December 2020.
