Outdoor Event Licence for Student Ball 2017 at Dún Laoghaire Harbour

The Council has by Order of the Executive Manager, Planning and Organisational Innovation Department, dated 31st March 2017 granted a licence which accords with Section 231, Sub Section 3 and 4 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) for the holding of a Student Ball (Varcity Ball 2017) at the Harbour Ferry Terminal, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin on Friday 28th April, 2017, subject to 11 conditions.

Overview
Where a public event which comprises of an audience of 5,000 or more people, the organiser is required to obtain an Outdoor Events Licence from the Local Authority. This is in accordance with the Planning & Development Act 2000 (As Amended) and Part 16 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (As Amended).
An application has been received on Friday, 27th January 2017 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the holding of an outdoor event to be held at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, Harbour Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
The application is for a proposed Student Ball for various colleges and universities in Dublin on 28th April 2017. The event will comprise of live entertainment performances.
Under the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations, 2001 (as amended) Article 190 of the Regulations, any person may make a submission or observation in writing to the local authority in respect of the application within 3 weeks of receipt of the application by the local authority.
