Cruise Passenger Realignment Project, Dun Laoghaire Harbour
Overview
Cruise Passenger Realignment Project, Dún Laoghaire Harbour
We are proposing to build a new ramp and steps linking Harbour Plaza to the lower level of St Michael's Pier.
The lower pier area would be upgraded to create a public plaza with a gift kiosk, planting, seating, new railings and views across the harbour.
The new ramp and steps would provide easier access between Harbour Plaza and St Michael's Pier, including wheelchair access. They would also make it easier for cruise passengers to travel between the harbour and Dún Laoghaire town centre.
The project would also involve:
- removing existing stairs and railings
- removing sections of walls and repairing the surrounding area
- changes to part of the car park
- changes to vehicle access routes in the lower parking area
- other related site works
The public consultation will run from 8 September 2026 to 21 October 2026.
