Closed 28 May 2018

Opened 24 Apr 2018

Overview

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council is currently preparing a ‘Noise Action Plan’ for the County in accordance with EC Directive 2002/49/EC and S.I. No. 140 of 2006 relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise. This strategic plan will cover environmental noise from traffic and heavy/light rail.  It covers the period from December 2018 to November 2023. It excludes noise from domestic activities or nuisance noise.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Traffic & Road Safety Section, is undertaking a Public Consultation for the Draft Noise Action Plan and welcomes all submissions and observations on the plan.

Details

The main purpose of the Noise Action Plan is to:

  • Inform and consult the public about noise exposure, its effects, and the measures which may be considered to address noise problems.
  • Address strategic noise issues by drawing up an action plan to manage noise issues and their effects.
  • To reduce noise where possible and maintain environmental acoustic quality in areas where it is of good quality.
